THE HOUSEABLE STORY
HouseABLE is the brainchild of Meetri’a Angelo, after her stroke and during her recovery, she lost EVERYTHING. The major medical event caused a financial disaster, physical damage, and her incom decreased drastically. This caused her to be what she referred to as UNHOUSEABLE. WHILE planning a fundraising event for herself, She realized she wasn’t alone with this problem, and the criminalization of people like her, She decided that she can help herself by helping others become houseable.
The business plan for HouseABLE is a simple plan of progression IN 4 steps.
STEP 1 - Work on the involuntarily unhoused and unhouseable population
Through credit counseling, employment services, housing placement services
and light financial services.
STEP 2 - Work on voluntarily unhoused and help rebuild their trust in society and ways to deal with those pressures. Along with the other services mentioned above.
STEP 3 - Work on area houselessness with local programs, employers, and other agencies to build a community preventing houselessness from several different angles.
STEP 4 - Build a community for living, work and community building for low income permanent and temporary housing, while incorporating the programs above as well.
